Willy K. Pedersen
IWilly K. Pedersen is a Norwegian photographer who lives and works in Lunner municipality, Norway.
He has worked with alternative medicine and meditation since he was 16 years old. He has also learned Qigong, Regression Therapy, Shamanism and practices Qigong and Shamanism on a daily basis. He has worked with people who have mental and physical disabilities since the mid-80s but is now retired.
Willy has photographed nature since his teens and developed his expression and technique largely thanks to the world-renowned photographer Morten Krogvold.
In Willy's own words:
One can see nature as a living being where everything is united like in a large spider's web. The smallest movement made in one place in the web creates movement throughout the entire web. If we can get in touch with nature and open ourselves to its amazing beauty, we will experience the magic of nature
MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
“I create every photo to offer more than just a picture— I want them to feel the magic and the beauty woven into every detail. I want them to experience the sparkle, the grace, and the emotion I felt when bringing it to life.”
My photography has been about nature and its magic for the past 20 years. I have tried to bring out what lies behind the physical in nature so that we can have a break from the daily stress.
The world is becoming more and more stressful and distant from the spiritual that connects us with nature and the magical forces in the universe.
I make these photographs with a digital camera and further process and refine them in Photoshop.
I try to create an image that can make one relax and dream into the magical.
In my project Nature Beings, I try to capture the beings that hide in Trees, Stones, Water and Sky with a digital camera. I have traveled to many countries in Asia and the West to capture these images.
My second project is to get inside and behind nature and try to create the magic that lies behind the veil. Both of these projects are ongoing.
Each image in the collection of Nature Beings with their titles is an expression of my understanding of the world we live in and the beings that exist there.
My second project, Nature, shows how I see and perceive nature in its magical and mysterious essence. I freeze the images in the moment and bring out the essence on the computer. Here I work with digital images and finish them in Photoshop.
When we take the time to see nature and look beyond its physical expression we will be able to live a more harmonious life and more in tune with our deepest being.
